Funk-soul legend Bootsy Collins and celebrated saxophonist Branford Marsalis played a free show in Clark Park for the 6th Annual Community Unity Music Festival on Saturday.

Bootsy, who doesn’t play bass live anymore (doctor’s orders) issued an N.E. Corridor roll call inviting N.Y.C. and D.C. to his free Philly House Party featuring a host of awesome musicians and vocalist. “So be there or be square,” beckoned the Funkateer. “Lets party y’ all! I hope to see you there.”

WXPN’s The Key reports that the West Philly festival “strives to celebrate lives that have been lost within the community, but also those that’ve been gained, bringing people together through live music, food, and activities, all open to the public.”
