Eastern State Penitentiary opens its historic site for hands-on preservation programming on Saturday and Sunday, May 23 and 24 from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Activities include the Capone: Wealth, Fame, and Preservation pop-up talk revealing hidden layers of painted decoration in Al Capone’s restored cell; the LEGO Radial Design Competition recreating the historic seven-cellblock plan with 24 specific bricks; the Demo Wall (Saturday and Sunday, 12-4 PM) where Preservation Trades Center graduates demonstrate brick and rubble-stone repointing techniques; the What-IS-It Exhibit and Talk (Saturday at 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM); and a self-guided scavenger hunt.

All activities included with admission. Admission $17-$21, free for children under 7.
