HYPROV: When Hypnosis Meets Improv

This holiday season, prepare to surrender your senses and your skepticism as HYPROV—the hilariously mind-bending comedy show starring “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” legend Colin Mochrie and master hypnotist Asad Mecci—makes its much-anticipated return to the Greater Philadelphia region. The critically acclaimed “Yes, It’s Real” Tour lands at the iconic Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville on Friday, December 19, 2025, promising an evening of unfiltered, unscripted hilarity where hypnosis and improv collide.

HYPROV, a portmanteau of “hypnosis” and “improv” (and pronounced hip-rawv), is a wildly successful stage phenomenon. Born in 2016 at Toronto’s legendary Second City and sharpened on international stages like Just for Laughs and Edinburgh Fringe, the show has evolved into a global comedy juggernaut. It features twenty audience volunteers hypnotized live on stage, the most responsive of whom are thrust into unscripted improv scenes with Colin Mochrie—while still under hypnosis. The result? Total unpredictability, pure comedy gold, and a night you’ll talk about long after the curtain closes.

HYPROV: The Minds Behind the Madness

The stars of HYPROV are two masters of their craft. Colin Mochrie, known across the world for his lightning-fast wit and scene-stealing improvisation on “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”, brings decades of comedic mastery to the show. From his early roots at Vancouver TheatreSports and Second City to his enduring global fame, Mochrie’s improv style is equal parts absurd, insightful, and side-splitting. He’s toured internationally, written books, and most recently appeared as the winner of Amazon’s “Last One Laughing”—but with HYPROV, he takes audience interaction to a whole new level.

On the other side of the mind-bending coin is Asad Mecci, a globally recognized hypnotist and mental strength coach who’s worked with elite athletes, Fortune 500 companies, and musical collaborators like Rufus Wainwright. Mecci blends technical expertise with showmanship. His hypnosis is a real-time demonstration of the power of the subconscious, seamlessly woven into the fabric of live comedy in HYPROV.

The performance runs approximately 90 minutes, and with a rotating cast of hypnotized participants, no two shows are ever the same. Add in improvised music, a hyped-up crowd, and the chemistry between Mochrie and Mecci, and you’ve got a performance that feels spontaneous, surreal, and completely authentic.

HYPROV will take the stage at The Colonial Theatre, located at 227 Bridge Street in Phoenixville, PA, on December 19, 2025, at 8:00 PM.

Tickets are on sale now and are expected to sell out fast. One part comedy show, one part psychological experiment, and 100% unforgettable, HYPROV guarantees you’ll leave questioning what’s real—and laughing all the way home.
