The Liberty Gala Honors Advocacy and Assembly in Style

The National Liberty Museum’s annual Liberty Gala returns this fall with renewed purpose and signature flair. On Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 6 PM to 10 PM, the 26th Anniversary Liberty Gala will take place at the elegant Pump House in Bala Cynwyd. This year’s theme—the Year of Assembly—emphasizes the collective power of community, dialogue, and civic engagement, a fitting focus for one of Philadelphia’s most socially conscious cultural institutions.

The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Flame Award, an honor bestowed upon individuals or organizations whose actions boldly support the ideals of liberty. This year, the National Liberty Museum will recognize The Satell Institute for its outstanding work promoting freedom of thought, the power of civil discourse, and actionable advocacy for assembly. Through tireless support of liberty and inclusion, The Satell Institute exemplifies the museum’s core values.

Liberty Gala Delivers a Culinary Showcase Worthy of the Cause

As any great gala should, the Liberty Gala promises a sensory experience led by some of the city’s most celebrated culinary talents. The cocktail reception will feature acclaimed chefs Cristina Martinez of South Philly Barbacoa and Diana Widjojo of Rice & Sambal, with more big names expected to be added to the lineup.

Dinner, curated as a three-course masterpiece, boasts headliners Sam Henzy of Fork, Jen Carroll (Bravo’s Top Chef finalist), and Nicholas Elmi (The Lark, Laurel, Landing Kitchen). Dessert will delight guests with offerings from local legends Éclat Chocolate, Termini Brothers, and Darnel’s Cakes, turning the evening into a true showcase of Philadelphia’s culinary excellence.
