This spring, FCM Hospitality is opening seven Philadelphia Beer Gardens on a staggered schedule that kicks off April 1 and runs through mid-month — each one refreshed with all-new menus from Chef Jack Peterson. Whether you’re a Morgan’s Pier regular who has been counting down the off-season days, or someone yet to discover the singular pleasure of a frozen margarita under a shaded tree canopy at Liberty Garden, 2026 is shaping up to be Philadelphia’s most exciting outdoor season in years.
Philadelphia Beer Gardens Opening 2026: Rittenhouse and Old City Lead the Way
The first weekend of April belongs to two very different, equally beloved Philadelphia Beer Gardens. Walnut Garden at 1708 Walnut Street — an 11,500-square-foot urban oasis built on a leased lot right in the heart of the Rittenhouse Row commercial corridor — opens for the season on Wednesday, April 1. Dog-friendly, stroller-friendly, kid-friendly, and equipped with an on-site play space, it is one of the rare outdoor rooms in Philadelphia that genuinely feels like it belongs to everyone who walks through it.
Beverage Director Matt Deutsch is pouring a $12 draft cocktail lineup that includes a Spicy Mango Margarita, Rittenhouse Sour, Hibiscus Lemonade, Berry Sangria, and Frozen Margarita, alongside the house Walnut Garden Lager — a crisp 5% Helles Lager for just $6 a pour. The first seven Sundays of the season feature Open Streets West Walnut with $7 mimosa specials, and Easter Sunday brings a family egg hunt to the space. Hours run Wednesday through Friday from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 10:00 p.m.

One day later, on Thursday, April 2, Liberty Garden opens at 50 North Independence Mall East in Old City — right across the green from the Independence Visitor Center. What FCM Hospitality has built here, in partnership with the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation and the National Park Service, is unlike anything else in the country: a welcoming, canopy-shaded beer garden with 250 seats, hammocks, Adirondack lounges, and communal picnic tables nestled inside Independence National Historical Park.
All drinks are from Pennsylvania breweries and wineries, with a particular spotlight on Philadelphia Brewmaster Brian O’Reilly’s Mainstay Independent Brewery. In this America’s 250th anniversary year, Liberty Garden is marking the occasion with a red, white, and blue frozen rocket pop cocktail ($12), a Freedom Spritz made with Union Forge Vodka, White Peach Red Bull, and sparkling wine — poured in honor of the 13 original colonies — at $13, and Mainstay’s Constitution Lager, a Vienna Lager at 5.4%, on draught for $8. Hours: Wednesday through Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Waterfront Shines: Philadelphia Beer Gardens Opening 2026 on the Delaware
Few Philadelphians need convincing when it comes to the Delaware waterfront in spring, and FCM’s two Philadelphia Beer Gardens riverfront flagships deliver on that promise every season. Liberty Point at 211 North Columbus Boulevard opens for its fifth season on Thursday, April 9. With 25,000 square feet of outdoor space, 3,000 square feet of indoor space, and capacity for 1,400 guests, it remains Philadelphia’s largest restaurant — three levels of decks with unobstructed views of the Ben Franklin Bridge and the Delaware River, and sunsets that routinely stop conversation.
“I’m thrilled that Liberty Point is opening for our fifth season,” said Avram Hornik. “The Philadelphia Waterfront is getting a major makeover with a new waterfront park being built over 95. It’s rare to find places in the city where you can get a good view of everything, but Liberty Point’s outdoor decks on the Delaware River are the perfect spot to do just that. Standing there, you can’t help but think about how important the river has been to the history of Philly, from its early days to its growth into the city it is today.”

The cocktail program goes full tiki this season, with $15 drinks served in inspired glassware — a Pain Killer in a coconut glass, a Jungle Bird in a parrot glass, and a Zombie ’50 in a mask glass — alongside the $12 Crush cocktail menu. Hours: Wednesday and Thursday noon to 10:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday noon to midnight, Sunday noon to 10:00 p.m.
Then comes the milestone. Morgan’s Pier opens on Thursday, April 16, for its extraordinary 15th season — and Philadelphia’s quintessential waterfront bar has earned every one of those years. Named for George C. Morgan, the construction worker who defied his boss’s orders and became the first person to shimmy across the Ben Franklin Bridge’s support cables in the 1920s, Morgan’s Pier is celebrating with its 15th Anniversary Woodermelon Ricky, made with Conshohocken Woodermelon, muddled fresh watermelon puree, and lime for $13.
“For 15 seasons, the hints of warmth have signaled Morgan’s Pier’s reopening — the joy of being outside and together with friends,” said Hornik. “In the off-season, I miss the surprise on first-time guests’ faces as they see our urban hideaway.” Four bars, a dancefloor, and container gardens in full bloom frame a full season of daily entertainment — live music, rotating DJs, Quizzo, Yappy Hours, and craft activities — that runs all season long. Hours: Monday through Wednesday 4:00 p.m. to midnight, Thursday 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., Friday through Sunday noon to 2:00 a.m.
Neighborhood Gems in the Philadelphia Beer Gardens Opening 2026 Season
The neighborhood venues round out the 2026 Philadelphia Beer Gardens calendar with equal parts charm and character. Parks on Tap, the beloved traveling beer garden run in partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, opens on Wednesday, April 8, bringing craft drinks directly to park lovers across the city — Wednesday through Friday from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 10:00 p.m. One week later, on Wednesday, April 15, Juno returns at 1033 Spring Garden Street in the Spring Arts neighborhood.
Home of the $5 margarita that made it a neighborhood institution, Juno offers a greenhouse-covered patio dressed in a floral installation by New York’s Floratorium and framed by colorful murals and trees throughout the space. It’s an authentically Philly take on Mexican hospitality — infused tequilas, frozen cocktails, and local beers — with Margarita Pitchers on Tuesdays for $20 and Taco Thursdays where tacos run just $1.33 each alongside $5 margaritas and $7 tequila shots. Juno is open Tuesday through Thursday from 4:00 to 11:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to midnight.

In Fishtown, Unleashed: Bark & Beer at Craft Hall at 901 North Delaware Avenue is welcoming the city’s most enthusiastic four-legged regulars. The fenced-in turf dog park and beer garden at the entrance to Craft Hall features 17 varieties of Mainstay craft beer delivered right to your seat while your dog runs free, and the Puppy Porch extends the welcome to full al fresco dining with your dog alongside.
“Craft Hall is the place I needed as a parent and a dog parent — a casual, warm, welcoming place to gather, connect and socialize, where I felt welcome,” said Hornik. Unleashed is open Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to midnight, Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
There is something that FCM Hospitality understands better than almost any operator in the country: outdoor spaces are really about belonging. Every venue in this portfolio — from the hammocks of Liberty Garden to the tiki decks of Liberty Point to the dog-friendly turf at Craft Hall — is built around the belief that Philadelphia deserves beautiful, welcoming places to be outside together. In a year when Liberty Garden sits at the heart of America’s 250th anniversary and Morgan’s Pier raises a glass to 15 seasons, the 2026 FCM calendar feels less like a seasonal reopening schedule and more like a statement about what this city is capable of.
From Rittenhouse to the waterfront, from Old City to Spring Arts to Fishtown, Philadelphia Beer Gardens gates open April 1. Plan accordingly.
