East Passyunk World Cup Block Party Series: 3 Evenings on 3 Blocks This Summer

EPABID is hosting three free East Passyunk World Cup block parties this summer — June 19, June 27, and July 3 — each timed to a Philadelphia match day and each on a different block of the avenue.

The first East Passyunk World Cup block party is this Friday. The East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District is hosting three outdoor events along the corridor between June 19 and July 3, each timed to a Philadelphia match day and each on a different block of the avenue. Admission is free. Sidewalk activations, food and drink specials from participating businesses, and game viewing are the format throughout.

EPABID has managed East Passyunk Avenue since 2002, overseeing programming, facade improvements, and business retention along one of South Philadelphia’s most active commercial corridors. The block party series spans three separate blocks over a five-week window, moving south along the avenue as the tournament progresses.

Participating businesses include Pizzata Birreria, Philly Typewriter, Primitive Boutique, Hey There Philly, Nice Things Handmade, Pace Architecture + Design, August Moon Boutique, and Headhunters Hair Design. June 19 is also the night Brazil plays Haiti at Lincoln Financial Field, with kickoff at 9 PM — the block party overlaps directly with the match.

The June 27 block party runs from 4 to 8 PM on the 1500 block, between Tasker and Dickinson Streets. Participating businesses include Triangle Tavern, Ember & Ash, Latchkey, Pub on Passyunk East, South Fellini, Supérette, and Urban Jungle. Croatia plays Ghana at Lincoln Financial Field on June 27 — the block party runs alongside that match as well.

The July 3 event runs from 5 to 9 PM on the 1300 block, between Reed and Wharton Streets, with Cartesian Brewing, Red Gravy Goods, and Triangle Tavern confirmed. Additional businesses are expected to be announced for all three events. July 3 is the eve of both the Round of 16 at Lincoln Financial Field and the 250th anniversary of American independence.

Why the East Passyunk World Cup Block Party Series Makes Sense for This Neighborhood

East Passyunk Avenue is the nearest commercial corridor to Philadelphia’s stadium complex, and the existing business mix maps onto the tournament without much effort. Kouklet & Tanda Brazilian Bakehouse and Supérette represent Brazil and France, two of the nations competing at Lincoln Financial Field. Barcelona Wine Bar covers Spain; Juana Tamale and El Chingon bring Mexican flavors; Stargazy handles England. The block party series is one of the few World Cup 2026 events in Philadelphia that didn’t require much engineering — the neighborhood was already built for this.
