Manayunk Arts Festival 2026: 300 Artists, One Cover Story, Two Days on Main Street

The 37th Manayunk Arts Festival 2026 takes over Main Street June 27–28 — free, 300 artists, the Carrera Paint My Ride Tour, 30 Emerging Artists on Grape Street, and a cover artist whose painting sold to a close friend of Jamie Wyeth.

The Manayunk Arts Festival 2026 opens on Main Street next Saturday, June 27, running through Sunday, June 28 — free admission, approximately 300 artists across eight disciplines, and the neighborhood transformed into the tri-state area’s largest outdoor juried arts festival for the 37th time. Saturday runs 11am to 7pm. Sunday runs 11am to 5pm. The festival is rain or shine.

Ryanne Bonde and the Painting That Traveled Further Than Expected

Each year, one artist’s work anchors the festival’s marketing — posters, billboards, digital campaigns. The Manayunk Arts Festival 2026 cover artist is Ryanne Bonde, a figurative oil painter and portraitist who lives and works in Manayunk. She also works as a school psychologist, and the two practices inform each other: years supporting students with disabilities shaped the painting she made for this year’s poster, which references Andrew Wyeth’s Christina’s World and its subject, Christina Olson, who lived with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.

What Bonde wanted was honest representation — an image that acknowledged disability without claiming an experience she doesn’t share. When she posted the finished work online, it traveled well beyond her existing audience and reached a close friend of Jamie Wyeth — Andrew’s son and a distinguished painter in his own right. That person invited Bonde to his home and purchased the painting. The Manayunk Arts Festival 2026 opens two weeks before she and her fiancé leave to get married.

Manayunk Arts Festival 2026: The Activations Worth Knowing

The most visible live activation this year is the Carrera Paint My Ride Tour, part of the brand’s 70th anniversary program. Two Philadelphia artists — Jenna Morello and Alloyius McIlwaine — compete in real time by transforming a vintage Carrera car on site throughout the weekend. The crowd votes on the winner; each city winner advances to a national vote at CarreraWorld.com. The tour spans seven cities, each representing a decade of the brand’s history.

Lucky’s Last Chance is running Funk Shop, a curated pop-up art experience at 4421 Main Street throughout both festival days. The lineup includes Pink Bike Ralph, Jay McQuirns, Luke Weichmann, Pleasantly Preturbed, Jackie Hay, Medusa Raptor, Ars & Crafts, Tuft Broad, Melissa Halbrook, Rose Bear Arts, Orange Beanie Art, Jet Takayama, Tim Pangburn, and Square Peggy. It functions as a second, curated art fair running in parallel with the main festival — free to attend.

BabyFace Studio returns for its second year with three tents: live wheel-throwing demonstrations by students, a dedicated kids’ wheel, and a tent where BabyFace members are selling their pottery for the first time. Founder Kim Canfield is building a community vessel that festivalgoers are invited to paint on directly throughout the weekend — after the festival, it will be glazed and permanently displayed in the studio windows. Ceramicist Max Molseed — manager of Taqueria Amor and a BabyFace student since 2024 — will have a booth in front of the restaurant with whimsical ceramic fish sculptures already commissioned for Rip Tide, Manayunk’s newest restaurant.

Manayunk Arts Festival 2026: Emerging Artists, the Restaurants, and Getting There

Grape Street, a side street just off Main, closes for the weekend to host 30 Emerging Artists — a dedicated program for artists in their first three years of participation, given space to show and sell outside the main juried body. Canal View Park hosts BE YOUR OWN ARTIST, a guided art-making activation with Aaron Birk of Aquaria Studio, open to all ages throughout both days.

Nineteen Manayunk restaurants are participating throughout the weekend, including Love City Brewing, Jake’s & Cooper’s, Sophie’s BBQ, Chabaa Thai Bistro, Cactus Cantina, and Tiffany’s Bakery. New this year is the Arts Loop — a shuttle allowing guests to walk Main Street in one direction and ride back, with complimentary parking at 555 City Avenue in Bala Cynwyd and at Ivy Ridge Train Station. The fare is $4 per person ($2 for children), with proceeds benefiting the North Light Community Center.

The Manayunk Arts Festival 2026 has run since 1990, and Main Street on a June weekend with 100,000 people moving through it has its own particular energy — different from a gallery opening, different from a museum, closer to the way a neighborhood actually lives with art when the whole thing spills outdoors. The cover artist is getting married two days after it closes. In a Philadelphia summer already stacked with reasons to be outside, this one is worth clearing the weekend for.
