A Fresh Chapter at Grace: Introducing Two Donkeys Cider

Grace Winery, the picturesque 50-acre estate tucked away in Glenn Mills, Pennsylvania, is stepping boldly into the world of hard cider with the release of its newest creation: Two Donkeys Cider. Set to debut during a vibrant Father’s Day 2025 celebration, this marks the winery’s first-ever cider and showcases their dedication to craft, terroir, and—unexpectedly—donkeys.

Crafted by Head Winemaker Andrew Yingst, Two Donkeys Cider draws inspiration from the region’s colonial-era cider traditions and Yingst’s own upbringing in Pennsylvania’s apple-rich countryside. The cider’s namesake pays tribute to Grace Winery’s resident mascots, Momma and Rosa, who not only lend their likeness to the can but will also be present for photo ops during the launch event.

Two Donkeys Cider: A Celebration in a Can

Priced at $8 per 12-ounce can and clocking in at 6.2% ABV, Two Donkeys Cider is a blend of local heritage and seasonal refreshments. Built on a field blend of Chester County apples—including Pomme Gris, Ashamed Kernel, Kingston Black, Gold Rush, Winesap, and Smiths Cider—the cider hits a perfect harmony of sweet and tart. Every sip tastes like biting into a cold, fresh apple on a hot day, making it ideal for backyard gatherings, picnics, or just unwinding on the patio.

Wines Joining the Lineup with Two Donkeys Cider

To complement the release of Two Donkeys Cider, Grace Winery is also unveiling two limited-production wines that reflect the estate’s French winemaking philosophy with a distinctly Pennsylvania twist.

The Mèthode Traditionnelle ($80 per bottle or $16 by the glass) is a 2022 vintage, 100% estate-grown Chardonnay that’s been aged nearly three years Sur Lie. Its elegant bubbles deliver a blend of citrus and green apple with a subtle almond pastry finish—delicate and refined, yet unmistakably celebratory.

Two Donkeys Cider

The Vintner’s Reserve ($75 per bottle or $15 by the glass), also from the 2022 vintage, is a robust red crafted from 72% Syrah and 28% estate-grown Cabernet Franc. It delivers jammy dark fruits like blackberry and plum on the nose, followed by a full-bodied mouthfeel with a velvety texture and a long, herbaceous finish. This is a wine built for slow sipping and serious appreciation.

A Father’s Day 2025 Experience to Remember

The launch of Two Donkeys Cider will be part of an all-day event on Sunday, June 15, from 1:00 to 8:00 pm, held in Grace Winery’s Tasting Room and surrounding outdoor spaces. Guests will enjoy live music from Max and Denise (3:00 to 5:30 pm) and Second Breakfast (5:30 to 8:00 pm), cider and wine tastings, and even a chance to meet the beloved donkeys in person.

All three new beverages—Two Donkeys Cider, Mèthode Traditionnelle, and Vintner’s Reserve—will be available at the winery while supplies last. The Tasting Room welcomes walk-ins and is open Fridays from 3 to 8 pm, Saturdays from 12 to 6 pm, and Sundays from 12 to 5 pm, with plans to extend hours throughout the summer.
