As Bourbon Heritage Month approaches, The Twisted Tail, the vibrant Southern-inspired restaurant and live Blues hotspot in Headhouse Square is set to host its highly anticipated 8th annual Whiskey Bonanza on September 28th. This whiskey extravaganza, running from 7 pm to 10 pm, with a VIP hour from 6 pm to 7 pm, promises a thrilling evening filled with more than 100 whiskeys, a captivating cocktail competition featuring top Philly bartenders, a delectable southern pig roast, live music, and a host of whiskey-themed festivities.
At the heart of this ticketed whiskey-tasting event lies a splendid assortment of whiskeys to cater to a diverse array of guests. Esteemed Philadelphia bartenders will fashion original cocktails using these whiskeys, allowing attendees to participate in a cocktail competition. Deke’s BBQ food truck will be on-site to satisfy culinary cravings with slow-cooked barbecue, while Reverend Chris will keep the atmosphere alive with New Orleans-style jazz and Blues piano.
George Reilly, the Master Craftsman and owner of The Twisted Tail, expressed his anticipation for the Whiskey Bonanza, stating, “It’s no coincidence that we host this event during Bourbon Heritage Month; few things are as quintessentially American as bourbon.” The event is a homage to America’s whiskey heritage, accentuated by the unique setting of the nation’s birthplace.
For those seeking an exclusive touch, the VIP hour, starting at 6 pm, offers early admission and access to rare and elusive whiskeys that won’t be available during the main event. The VIP ticket also allows attendees to enjoy The Twisted Tail’s traditional Suckling Pig Roast. Deke’s BBQ food truck will also be stationed in front of The Twisted Tail from 8 pm to 10 pm, providing food options between whiskey tastings for an additional charge.
