Casio is presenting the G-SHOCK Adventurer’s Stone watches to commemorate its 40th anniversary.
To mark the 40th anniversary of G-SHOCK, Casio is releasing six new shock-resistant Adventurer’s Stone watches. These timepieces take their design cues from stones that have helped adventurers find their way for centuries.
The G-SHOCK brand concept of continuous innovation encourages people to confront new challenges. The design of the Adventurer’s Stone watches was inspired by a stone that has long been valued among those seeking adventure. The 40th anniversary shock-resistant Adventurer’s Stone models are based on stones known to be useful compasses for adventurers dating back to medieval times.
Inspired by different stones, the watches’ metal bezels are textured to reflect the rough surface of stone and then honed. The top and sides also feature hairline and mirror finishes that bring out a crystalline beauty in each watch. To further capture the look of particular minerals, bezels undergo ion platings that reproduce how light interacts with stone at different cross sections. Each model’s band is designed to complement its respective bezel.
The anniversary logo is engraved on the case back, there are four stars for the 40th birthday on the band loop, and the phrase “SINCE 1983” appears on the dial as befits an anniversary model.
