Hispanic Heritage Month 2025 Brings Flavor, Art, and Culture to the City

Hispanic Heritage Month 2025 (September 15 to October 15) is a time to celebrate the vibrant histories, rich cultures, and enduring contributions of the Hispanic and Latin American communities in the United States. In true Philadelphia fashion, the city embraces the occasion with a lineup of flavorful menus, artistic tributes, and culturally rich experiences—each curated to honor heritage through the lenses of food, drink, and creative expression.

At Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar, guests can sip and savor in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month with a complimentary 1-ounce snifter of Don Q Gran Reserva XO rum, offered to anyone ordering the restaurant’s 25th Anniversary Chef’s Tasting Menu. This four-course culinary journey, priced at just $49, pairs beautifully with the refined rum—crafted from rums aged 9–12 years in bourbon barrels and sherry casks, with no added sugar.

Available from September 15 to October 15 at both the Philadelphia location (10 S. 2nd Street) and in Atlantic City (Tropicana Casino & Resort), it’s a spirited way to toast the culture.

A few blocks away, Bolo, the Latin American restaurant and rum bar helmed by two-time James Beard semifinalist Chef Yun Fuentes, is firing up its acclaimed Suckling Pig Dinner. The whole pig is slow-roasted and marinated in achiote, oregano, garlic, and sour orange, then served family-style with a vibrant spread of fall greens, mofongo, maduros, and rice with gandules. Typically valued at $65, the dish is offered for just $50 throughout Hispanic Heritage Month.

Also on offer at Bolo: two limited-edition cocktails created just for the season—Suavecito, a rum-forward number with guava and peach bitters, and Boléro, a complex tequila creation with pineapple and Lillet. Even better, $1 from each cocktail and 15% of all Suckling Pig Dinner proceeds will benefit the Norris Square Neighborhood Project, a community organization preserving Puerto Rican culture and cultivating youth leadership in North Philly.

Hispanic Heritage Month 2025 Art Showcases Local Talent at Hyatt Centric

If art is your love language, the Hyatt Centric Center City Philadelphia is hosting a poignant Hispanic Heritage Month 2025 edition of its ongoing Maker Series with a compelling new exhibition curated by InLiquid Gallery. The show features two trailblazing Philadelphia-based artists: Puerto Rican-born photographer Jaime Alvarez and Chicana painter Marta Sanchez.

Paintings by Marta Sanchez

Alvarez’s work—collected by institutions such as Comcast, Drexel University, and Mexic-Arte Museum—blends photography and installation to reflect memory and presence in everyday spaces. Sanchez draws from Mexican folkloric traditions in her tin paintings and linocuts, connecting cultural heritage with present-day social concerns. Her pieces are housed in prestigious collections, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art and The National Museum of Mexican Art.

Guests are invited to the opening reception on Thursday, September 25, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM, for an exclusive meet-and-greet with the artists. Complimentary bites will be served by Patchwork Restaurant, with featured craft cocktails available from the hotel’s bar. The exhibit is free to attend, and all displayed works will be available for purchase. The show runs through November 10, 2025, offering a lasting tribute to cultural storytelling through visual art.

Whether it’s a glass of aged rum, a forkful of slow-roasted pig, or an afternoon spent exploring Latino art, Hispanic Heritage Month 2025 in Philadelphia is as dynamic and inspiring as the communities it honors. The city shows once again that culture, creativity, and community are always worth celebrating—especially when they come together so beautifully.
