Pomelo Rooftop Terrace Opens on the Main Line August 8

Pomelo Rooftop Terrace, Radnor’s newest rooftop bar, opens August 8 atop The Brandywine hotel — seasonal shareable plates, botanical cocktails, and Main Line views.

Pomelo Rooftop Terrace opens Saturday, August 8, atop The Brandywine, the recently opened Marriott Bonvoy Tribute Portfolio hotel in Radnor — the Main Line’s newest rooftop bar and restaurant, built around seasonal shareable plates, botanical cocktails, and views worth lingering over. Tribute Portfolio spans more than 170 independently characterful hotels across 35-plus countries, from Bellyard in Atlanta to Hotel Riomar in Ibiza, and guests at The Brandywine can earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points during their stay.

“At Pomelo, we set out to create a destination where guests can gather over great food, handcrafted cocktails, and sweeping rooftop views,” said Sebastien Gressier, General Manager of The Brandywine. “Whether joining us for sunset drinks, a leisurely weekend afternoon, or an evening out with friends, guests will find a seasonal menu designed for sharing and a welcoming atmosphere that evolves throughout the day — from a relaxed daytime retreat to a lively evening destination.”

The Menu: Seasonal Shareable Plates From Chef Michael Davies

At Pomelo Rooftop Terrace, Executive Chef Michael Davies brings a genuinely well-rounded Philadelphia-area path to Pomelo’s kitchen — a graduate of the Art Institute of Philadelphia, he started at Memphis Taproom, honed his approach to bold, seasonal cooking at Cheu Fishtown and Pumpkin, then most recently served as Executive Chef at The Settlers Inn in Northeast Pennsylvania, deepening his focus on locally driven menus along the way.

The raw bar opens things up: oysters by the half dozen, an elevated shrimp cocktail with tomato jam and horseradish royale, and scallop crudo with charred grapefruit, a nice nod to the restaurant’s own citrus namesake. Small plates — calamari, deviled eggs, petite tenderloin skewers — are built for mixing, matching, and lingering over the meal. Heartier options include the Pomelo Smash Burger with Rooftop Sauce, Rockfish and Chips, Grilled Branzino, and a Lion’s Mushroom Cake, a genuinely substantial plant-based option rather than a token afterthought. Weekend brunch launches separately on August 22, with its own eclectic, seasonally driven shareable menu.

Botanical Cocktails and Where to Sit

Pomelo Rooftop Terrace’s cocktail program leans into botanicals, clear spirits, and spritzes. A dedicated Gin & Tonic section features the Pomelo G&T, built on grapefruit and Spanish botanicals, alongside the Tomato & Tonic, a genuinely well-composed zero-proof option with tomato water, mint, celery salt, lemon, and tonic. Round things out with the Agave & Aloe (tequila, aloe liqueur, Lillet Blanc, lemon) or the Cherry Blossom Spritz (gin, yuzu sake, cherry liqueur, sparkling wine), backed by a curated, bright, fruit-forward wine list.

Back at Pomelo Rooftop Terrace, seating runs 136 total — 74 indoors across the dining room, lounge, and bar, plus 62 outdoors with lounge seating, dining tables, and a fire pit area that extends the rooftop’s appeal well past summer. Pomelo also plans an ongoing lineup of events and community partnerships with local artisans, authors, retailers, and food purveyors, joining sister property Merrick’s Tavern as part of Brandywine Realty Trust’s growing Main Line presence.

Pomelo Rooftop Terrace serves sips Wednesday and Thursday from 4 pm to 11 pm, Friday and Saturday from 2 pm to midnight, and Sunday from 2 pm to 9 pm, with bites running slightly earlier each day. Reservations are available via OpenTable. A rooftop this thoughtfully built, in a room this warm, is exactly the kind of place worth making a standing plan to return to — sunset drinks tonight, brunch by the 22nd, and plenty of reasons to keep coming back after that.
