Shake Shack BBQ Menu Brings the Heat This Season

Shake Shack, the fast-casual eatery known for its 100% Angus beef burgers, crisp chicken sandwiches, and crinkle-cut fries, is turning up the flavor just in time for the warmer months. Beginning April 29 through the Shack App—and May 2 in-store—the new Shake Shack BBQ Menu is firing on all cylinders, delivering smoky, tangy, and bold options that feel tailor-made for backyard BBQ fans and burger aficionados alike.

Rooted in the spirit of summer cookouts, the Shake Shack BBQ Menu presents a curated lineup of limited-time items crafted with house-made BBQ sauces and premium ingredients. The new offerings include not one, but four saucy sandwiches that spotlight either their signature Angus beef or crispy white-meat chicken, along with zesty fries and indulgent shakes designed for peak seasonal enjoyment.

Among the standouts is the Smoky Classic BBQ Burger—a rich and meaty bite built on a base of 100% Angus beef, draped in melty American cheese and layered with applewood-smoked bacon, pickles, crispy onions, and Shake Shack’s classic smoky BBQ sauce. It’s hearty and perfectly balanced, nestled between a toasted potato bun that absorbs all the right flavors.

Equally compelling is the Carolina BBQ Burger with Fried Pickles, which kicks things up with pepper jack cheese and a sweet-yet-tangy Carolina-style BBQ sauce. The crispy fried pickles add an addictive crunch and just the right amount of heat. It’s Shake Shack doing what they do best—putting a gourmet twist on Americana comfort food.

Not to be outdone, chicken fans will appreciate the Smoky Classic BBQ Chicken, which mirrors its burger sibling with all the same smoky, bacon-laced bravado, this time with their famously juicy white-meat chicken filet. For a more regional flavor, the Carolina BBQ Chicken delivers a pepper jack punch alongside the fried pickles and that signature Carolina BBQ glaze.

And let’s not forget the Spicy Fries with Ranch, tossed in a fiery house-made blend of cayenne, garlic, and paprika. They’re served with Shack Ranch on the side, but you can amp it up with Shake Shack’s house-made cheese sauce for a small upgrade that pays off in big flavor.

Where to Experience the Shake Shack BBQ Menu in Philadelphia

Philadelphians have multiple ways to enjoy the Shake Shack BBQ Menu, whether you’re in the mood for a midday indulgence or a laid-back evening bite. The newest location in Fishtown at 1359 Frankford Avenue—opened in December 2024—offers a bright, open space ideal for summer hangouts. Shake Shack’s presence continues to grow, with prime real estate at the University City location near Penn and Drexel, and of course, the two Center City staples in Midtown Village and Rittenhouse.

It’s not really BBQ unless you get a little BBQ sauce over yourself. With that in mind, the Sansom Street location will provide customers with free, sauce-proof, disposable tees and tanks for the month of May. The disposable wears are inspired by Shake Shack’s notable food trays and have one purpose… to shield you from the sauce.

Beyond the savory options, Shake Shack’s summer shake trio is the cool-down we didn’t know we needed. The OREO Cookie Funnel Cake Shake channels nostalgic boardwalk vibes, while the Banana Pudding Shake and Campfire S’mores Shake are decadent nods to iconic desserts that feel right at home on a summer night.

It’s a limited-time affair, so don’t wait too long to see what the sizzle is all about.
