American Trench, a Philadelphia-based menswear brand known for its commitment to USA-made quality, has expanded its digital footprint to a physical retail space in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Cofounded by Jacob Hurwitz and David Neill, American Trench has been a digital native brand until the opening of this boutique, marking a significant milestone for the company.

Located at 15 East Lancaster Avenue, the store also doubles as a warehouse for the brand’s online operations. It opened its doors on Small Business Saturday in 2023, reinforcing the importance of local community and commerce. The American Trench boutique in Ardmore operates Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm and Sundays from 12 pm to 5 pm, inviting customers to a unique shopping experience that combines convenience with personal connection.

American Trench

American Trench offers a range of menswear under its American Trench and Original Equipment labels, featuring an assortment of apparel, shoes, and accessories. The brand is renowned for its premium men’s clothing, which is available online and at select upscale stockists worldwide. The Ardmore store presents an exclusive opportunity for customers to engage directly with the brand, experiencing first-hand the quality and craftsmanship that define American Trench.

The brand began with a Kickstarter campaign in January 2013, launched by lifelong friends and Lower Merion High School alumni Hurwitz and Neill. Their first product, a trench coat made in New Jersey, set the standard for the brand’s focus on quality and local manufacturing. The upcoming release of a new trench coat, made in Boston and boasting an updated fit, continues this tradition of American craftsmanship.

American Trench’s ethos is providing high-quality, everyday wear for men who value American-made goods. The brand counters the trend of extreme casualness with a more put-together yet comfortable style, offering an alternative to the overly tailored menswear prevalent today. This philosophy is rooted in Hurwitz’s personal experience and desire to educate customers about the unique stories behind each product. Central to these stories is the human element – the people in small factories across the United States who bring these products to life.

Key items in the store range from American Trench socks, known for their popularity among celebrities, to luxurious Scottish cashmere scarves, peacoats, and modern officer coats. Prices vary from accessible items like socks starting at $14 to premium pieces like nubuck trucker jackets. The store also offers a selection of men’s footwear from exclusive designers, handcrafted leather goods, and locally poured candles, ensuring a diverse range of high-quality products.

With the opening of its Ardmore boutique, American Trench provides a platform for top-grade American manufacturing and fosters a sense of community, inviting customers to be a part of a larger story – one that values craftsmanship, sustainability, and local business.
