Chefs United for Ukraine & Philly fills Broad Street Love at 315 S. Broad Street on Tuesday, October 27, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The charity dinner puts Philadelphia-area chefs and food and beverage leaders behind one multi-course feast, and the proceeds are split evenly between World Central Kitchen and Broad Street Love.
Chefs United for Ukraine & Philly: Who Is Cooking
The lineup includes Ange Branca, chef-owner of Kampar, and Dan Reilly, chef-owner of The Crush in Brooklyn. Diana Widjojo of Rice & Sambal, Ian Moroney of Carl dinner parties and Joncarl Lachman of Winkel are also cooking, along with Lynn Buono of Les Dames d’Escoffier.
Malik Ali and Stephanie Willis, the chef-founders of Everybody Eats, join Michael Brenfleck of Little Walter’s. Nicholas Amrani, chief operating officer of Delice et Chocolat, Olga Sorzano of Baba’s Brew and Sue Miller, co-owner of Birchrun Hills Farm, round out the names in the announcement.
Lachman is the chef-owner of Winkel and a former culinary director at Broad Street Love. According to the announcement, he cooked with World Central Kitchen at the Ukrainian border, and he says friends in the industry helped bring this night together. His summary of the evening is “Two kitchens, one mission.”
Chefs United for Ukraine & Philly: The Dinner, the Music and the After Party
Dinner is served in the stained-glass Sanctuary Dining Room at Broad Street Love. The first course is built around shared dishes that guests enjoy as they arrive, and the second course comes directly from the chefs, so guests can talk with the people who cooked it one on one.
The menu and the room carry Ukrainian touches. A babka dessert plate, Ukrainian beer and regional music are on the program, and the Voloshky Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, a Philadelphia-area group, performs live. Chefs United for Ukraine & Philly is built around those details as much as the chefs.
An after party follows across the street at the Kimmel Center’s Curtain Call Café. Coffee and dessert selections come from Leo, the restaurant and bar inside the Kimmel Center, so the evening can run past the last course at your own pace.

Chefs United for Ukraine & Philly: Where the Money Goes
Half of the proceeds support World Central Kitchen’s relief work in and around Ukraine. The announcement says the organization has provided more than 300 million meals there since the war began in 2022, and that the conflict enters its sixth year in February.
The funds go toward working with local restaurants, food trucks and chefs, buying regional ingredients and reimbursing local food partners, and expanding field kitchens, mobile food trucks and delivery vehicles that reach isolated areas.
The other half supports Broad Street Love, the Center City nonprofit formerly known as Broad Street Ministry. The announcement says its lunch program serves more than 300 guests each weekday. It also offers a mailing address for getting an ID or applying for benefits, personal care items, a clothing boutique and a concierge program for one-on-one help with health, housing and work.
Broad Street Love calls its approach Radical Hospitality, and the announcement says World Central Kitchen’s frontline meals echo it. That shared idea is why a Philadelphia kitchen and a global relief group sit on the same ticket.
Chefs United for Ukraine & Philly Tickets and Planning
General tickets for Chefs United for Ukraine & Philly are $125 per person. Angel tickets are $175 and automatically enter the buyer in a raffle for a professionally cooked dinner for four at the winner’s home. Both are sold on the event ticket page.
The dinner runs 6:30 to 9 p.m. on a Tuesday. Broad Street Love is at 315 S. Broad Street, and the Curtain Call Café after party is across the street, so there is no second address to look up after dessert. Check the ticket page for any updates before you go.
Come hungry. Sit down in the Sanctuary Dining Room, talk with the cook who made your second course and stay for dessert across the street. Chefs United for Ukraine & Philly asks for one evening, and your seat helps keep both kitchens cooking.
