Lynnewood Hall opens to the public for the first time in more than 80 years this September, and it’s doing so through flowers rather than a standard museum tour. Fleurs de Villes THE GILDED AGE, an immersive floral exhibition built around HBO’s The Gilded Age, runs September 25 through October 4 inside the historic Elkins Park estate, giving visitors rare interior access to one of the Gilded Age’s grandest surviving mansions.

Lynnewood Hall Opens Its Doors After More Than 80 Years

The opening carries weight well beyond a single exhibition. Edward Thome, Executive Director of the Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation, called it “a milestone in one of America’s most significant preservation stories,” framing every ticket as direct support for the estate’s ongoing restoration. Guests willing to go deeper can add an optional Preservation Tour, a behind-the-scenes look at Lynnewood Hall’s history and the work still underway to save it.

That restoration context matters here in a way it doesn’t for most pop-up exhibitions — Lynnewood Hall has sat largely closed to the public for decades, and an event able to draw visitors inside its doors is itself part of the preservation effort, not just a backdrop for it.

The Floral Mannequins Reimagining The Gilded Age

Each mannequin is built entirely from fresh flowers and designed by a different Philadelphia-area floral artist, reinterpreting specific moments from the HBO series: Bertha Russell’s triumph at the Metropolitan Opera, Peggy Scott’s engagement celebration, Marian Brook and Larry Russell’s romance, and Agnes van Rhijn’s defense of old New York society. Fleurs de Villes Co-founder Karen Marshall said Lynnewood Hall’s “remarkable architecture and rich history create the perfect backdrop” for the series’ world.

Lynnewood Hall marks the third stop on a six-venue national tour, following the format of Fleurs de Villes’ earlier Downton Abbey collaboration, which won a 2026 Global Entertainment Award for Best Integrated Partnership – Cinema. Visitors can vote for their favorite mannequin and watch live floral demonstrations throughout the run.

Timed-entry adult tickets run $30.50, with family, child, and senior pricing also available at fleursdevilles.com/philadelphia. The site includes an on-site café, complimentary shuttle service, and parking — $10 for self-parking, $25 for valet.

The exhibition adds another Gilded Age-era estate to Elkins Park’s cluster of historic properties open for events, joining Elkins Estate’s own recent expansion and its Gilded Tour programming just down the road — making the neighborhood a real destination for anyone drawn to the era’s architecture this fall.
