Mr. Fries Man Makes Its PA Debut in Fishtown

Mr. Fries Man opens its first Pennsylvania location in Fishtown on April 24 with loaded fries, build-your-own options, wings, and a grand opening giveaway for the first 150 guests.

Mr. Fries Man, the viral loaded fries franchise out of Gardena, California, opens its first Pennsylvania location this Friday, April 24, at 2313 Frankford Avenue in Fishtown. The grand opening includes complimentary Jr. Loaded Fries for the first 150 guests at both 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., courtesy of Texathon, with cash prizes distributed throughout the day and music by DJ Greg Nitty. Mr. Fries Man brings a full menu of loaded fries, build-your-own options, wings with over a dozen sauce choices, and loaded baked potatoes to one of the city’s most active dining corridors — and it is not arriving alone.

What Mr. Fries Man Brings to Fishtown

The Mr. Fries Man menu is built around bold, generously loaded fry creations that made the brand a West Coast phenomenon and earned it the title of the most unique fries in South Bay. Customer favorites include Buffalo Ranch Chicken with buffalo and ranch sauce over cheddar cheese, Honey Garlic Shrimp and Steak with honey garlic sauce over cheddar, Chicken Bacon Parmesan with lemon garlic sauce and parmesan, Lemon Garlic Crab and Shrimp with cheddar and blue crab, and BBQ Bacon Ranch Chicken. The Fry Box gives newcomers a curated sampler across four signature combinations. A Philly-exclusive cheesesteak fries option is in the works and expected to roll out shortly after opening.

Mr. Fries Man also offers a full build-your-own loaded fries section where guests choose a protein — chicken, shrimp, steak, shrimp and crab, or Beyond Meat plant-based — a sauce from nine options ranging from Mango Habanero to Jalapeño Ranch, and add-ons like bacon, chili, nacho cheese, and extra proteins. Wings come in orders of 5, 10, or 15 with sauces including Lemon Cajun, Lemon Peppa, Lemon Garlic Parm, and Buffalo Lemon Peppa. A dollar wings special runs 10 for $10 or 20 for $20 bone-in, tossed in your choice of sauce.

The Team Behind Mr. Fries Man Philly

The Mr. Fries Man Philadelphia outpost is owned and operated by local entrepreneur and gelato artist Galen Thomas — the force behind neighboring Cloud Cups Gelato and Philly Cheesecake Lady — alongside Chef Donte Fassett of Mason Meals. Thomas discovered the brand during a trip to California and immediately recognized the potential for Philadelphia. The space at 2313 Frankford Avenue features wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling custom Philly and fry-inspired murals by well-known muralist and artist Taqiy Muhammad. Mr. Fries Man operates as counter service with dining tables shared across the space with Cloud Cups and Philly Cheesecake Lady.

The New Food Hub Around Mr. Fries Man

For Fishtown regulars, Mr. Fries Man is the final piece of what has quietly become a new food hub at 2313 Frankford Avenue — now housing brick-and-mortar locations for Cloud Cups Gelato, Philly Cheesecake Lady, and the loaded fries franchise under one roof. All three concepts will be available together for delivery through UberEats and for catering. Fishtown’s food scene continues to add new concepts at a steady pace, and the combination of a West Coast viral franchise with two established local sweet-treat brands creates the kind of one-stop destination that the corridor has not had before.
