Pumpkins & Prosecco at Harvest Seasonal Grill Turns a Pumpkin Into a Fall Centerpiece

Pumpkins & Prosecco comes to Harvest Seasonal Grill on October 14 in North Wales and October 27 in Moorestown, $45 per person.

Pumpkins & Prosecco turns an ordinary pumpkin into a fall centerpiece, with a glass in your hand while you work. Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar is hosting two evenings: Wednesday, October 14, in North Wales, Pennsylvania, and Tuesday, October 27, in Moorestown, New Jersey. Both run from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and Harvest says space is limited.

What Pumpkins & Prosecco Includes

A $45 ticket to Pumpkins & Prosecco covers all materials and instruction, the finished pumpkin floral centerpiece to take home, and one Prosecco or non-alcoholic Prosecco. Guests fill a pumpkin with fresh fall flowers, herbs and natural accents. Harvest says no floral design experience is necessary, only a little creativity. Friends are encouraged.

The Pumpkins & Prosecco workshop is led by Heroic Gardens and floral designer Baylee Carr, according to Harvest. Carr walks guests through the arrangement step by step and shares professional design tips and techniques that guests can use long after the evening ends. The end result is a one-of-a-kind arrangement suited to a dinner table, a Thanksgiving gathering or a front hall.

Harvest bills the Pumpkins & Prosecco evenings as a Girls’ Night Out. The full food and beverage menu is also available for purchase throughout each event, so dinner, wine or a cocktail can go along with the flowers. Both restaurants stay open until 9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, according to their location pages, which leaves time to sit down after the 7:30 finish.

Where to Find Pumpkins & Prosecco

The North Wales night takes place at 1100 Bethlehem Pike, in the Gwynedd Crossing Shopping Center. Reservations are through Resy for the North Wales restaurant. The Moorestown night is at 400 New Jersey 38, at Moorestown Mall, with booking through Resy for the Moorestown restaurant. Tickets to Pumpkins & Prosecco are $45 per person at both. Advance reservations are strongly encouraged.

Happy hour runs from 3 to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, in the bar and on the patio at both restaurants, according to their location pages. That makes an early arrival easy: a drink and a seat before the 6 p.m. start, then the workshop, then dinner if you want it.

Having two dates gives guests a choice. The North Wales evening falls on a Wednesday and the Moorestown evening on a Tuesday, so a work schedule can settle it. The Moorestown night sits four days before Halloween, which suits a pumpkin that will end up by the front door.

Why Pumpkins & Prosecco Suits a Farm-to-Table Kitchen

Harvest runs eight restaurants across Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and its menus change with the seasons. The company says it works with 75 local farmers and lists many items under 600 calories, with vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan choices. We looked at that approach in our piece on gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian dining at the restaurants.

A pumpkin workshop fits that kitchen better than it might seem. Fall is when a seasonal restaurant looks its best, and a table covered in gourds, herbs and flowers is the same season on a different plate. Harvest has also tried events beyond dinner, such as the Puppy Yoga series at its Glen Mills location.

Pumpkins & Prosecco is the autumn version of that idea. Guests get an hour and a half of company, a glass in hand and something to carry out the door. Anyone curious about the season at large can start with our earlier look at National Pumpkin Day in Philadelphia.

Picture it on the table at Thanksgiving, or just by the front door: a pumpkin you dressed yourself, tucked with fresh fall flowers and herbs, after an evening of good company and a glass of Prosecco. Somebody will ask where it came from, and you will have a good answer.
