Most weekday lunches in Center City get eaten at a desk or in a hurry. The Urban Farmer Quick Cut is a $17 way to eat at a table instead, with two items from Executive Chef Sonny Ingui’s menu and warm house-made cornbread, at the steakhouse inside The Logan Hotel.
It runs Monday through Friday from 11 am to 2 pm at Urban Farmer, 1850 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy. Urban Farmer says it was built for people who want a satisfying midday meal without giving up much of the day. You can read the full menu on the restaurant’s website and book through OpenTable.
What the Urban Farmer Quick Cut Includes
The deal is simple. Pick two items for $17, and every order comes with warm cornbread and Maldon sea salt butter. The restaurant’s menu page lists the Farmer Chop Salad, which pairs farm vegetables with sunflower seeds, ricotta salata, white French dressing and house-made crackers. Other choices on the page include potato leek soup with fried shallots and a field greens salad with grapes, crisp quinoa and honey vinaigrette.
Deviled eggs with candied bacon and maple bourbon, and a plate of farm fries, round out that list. Jumbo lump crab can be added to the soup for $10 more. My pick would be soup and the chop salad, which makes a full lunch that still lets you walk back to work. Menus change, so check the page before you go.
The Urban Farmer Quick Cut is aimed at the weekday crowd: people who work along the Parkway, and anyone who wants a real lunch instead of a sandwich shop line. At $17 for two items plus cornbread, I think it is a fair price for a hotel steakhouse in this part of town.
The only open question is speed. Urban Farmer calls this an express lunch but gives no promised turnaround, so if you only have 45 minutes, say so when you book.

Urban Farmer is known for locally sourced ingredients and an in-house butcher shop, and that kitchen shows up in our earlier coverage. The Farm Burger is made with meat from the hotel’s own butcher shop, and the Pup Menu for The Logan’s National Dog Day Yappy Hour came from Chef Ingui.
The restaurant also planned a six-course live-fire patio dinner with Woodford Reserve for Father’s Day, and it was part of the hotel’s World Cup watch party program this summer. Those are special nights. The Urban Farmer Quick Cut is the everyday version of the same kitchen, available any weekday at a price that does not need an occasion.
The Logan itself is worth a look if you have a few extra minutes. The hotel also runs Assembly Rooftop Lounge, nine stories above the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, with views of the Art Museum and City Hall. That is a good place to remember for an after-work drink once you have tried the lunch downstairs.
Take the full hour for once. Sit down, order two things, tear into the cornbread while it is warm and let the desk wait. The Urban Farmer Quick Cut is a small, practical reason to leave the office, and on a busy weekday that is worth $17.
