Philadelphia’s dogs get the celebrity treatment this National Dog Day, with two separate Yappy Hours landing on Wednesday, August 26 — Square 1682 from 3 to 5 p.m., followed by The Logan Hotel from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Both events are sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka and built around genuinely thoughtful pup menus, making it entirely possible to turn the afternoon into a full dog-friendly crawl across Center City.

Square 1682’s National Dog Day Yappy Hour

Square 1682, the restaurant on the ground floor of the Kimpton Hotel Palomar, opens its Sansom Street patio for an extended happy hour running 3 to 5 p.m., free to attend. Humans can order $6 wine, $5 beer, and $10 cocktails including the Rosemary Gimlet, alongside bites like the $10 Square Burger, $8 Corn Bread, $12 Salmon Tartare, and $10 Truffle Fries. Every dog in attendance gets a complimentary Bone Broth Barktini.

The event also debuts Square 1682’s new Pupadelphia Menu, each item $1 off during Yappy Hour: South Paw Salmon ($10), Bulking Season ($11, grilled chicken with white rice and Greek yogurt), and Chewsteak ($12, shaved ribeye with pumpkin seed oat crumble).

The limited-time Flower of the Moon cocktail ($16) rounds out the drink list, and guests leave with Tito’s swag bags and a 15% bounce-back card. All August, $1 from every cocktail sold benefits Street Tails Animal Rescue, matched by Tito’s.

The Logan Hotel’s National Dog Day Yappy Hour

The Logan’s own Yappy Hour takes over the hotel courtyard from 5:30 to 8 p.m., anchored by a special Pup Menu from Urban Farmer Executive Chef Sonny Ingui. Highlights include Homemade Dog Biscuits ($5), Beef Tenderloin Bits ($13), the Puppy Patty ($9), and a Strawberry Banana “Ice Cream” made from frozen Greek yogurt with a dog biscuit topping ($7).

Humans get their own reason to celebrate with the Sparkling Greyhound, a Tito’s cocktail benefiting Morris Animal Refuge, plus Urban Farmer’s playful tennis-ball-shaped macarons. Local vendors including Pawtraits Popup, Art City Vets, Clean Leash, and Brixxy & Co. round out the courtyard, with The Logan’s own event calendar and Philly Shih Tzu’s returning to host a dog meetup for the evening.
