Get ready to celebrate National Ice Cream Day 2022, the Philly way.

Ok, here is a little Americana history for you. In 1984, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed July as National Ice Cream Month to give glory to the U.S. dairy industry. The third Sunday of July was designated as National Ice Cream Day. Get ready to get your scoop on as the 2022 holiday falls on Sunday, July 17.

Here are a few choice Philly spots to pull up and enjoy an after-dinner scoop or four…

The Goat Rittenhouse‘s sundae features three scoops of vanilla, chocolate or strawberry gelato topped with chocolate syrup, caramel, chopped nuts, whipped cream, sprinkles, and a crowned with cherry.

After a nice steak dinner at Alpen Rose, perhaps, enjoy a mountain of their sundae composed of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry ice cream with bananas, whip cream, and varied sweet toppings on the side to top it off.

Maybe you are looking to keep the ice cream social going all month long. We’ve got you covered with these Philly favs that are celebrating for the entire month of July…

Visit The Dutchess in Pennsport for its Saturday Night Social, a weekly pop-up on Saturdays in July from 4 pm to 8 pm, and enjoy spirited ice cream offerings such as the Spiked Birch Beer Vanilla Ice Cream Rum Float or the Lime Sorbet Spicy Watermelon Margarita. They also make their own semifreddo-style Malted Milk Chocolate and Vanilla Salted Caramel Ice Cream.

Boozy Milkshakes and Soda Floats at Scoop Deville at The Bourse Food Hall look delicious and satisfying.
