Picnic in the Parc pairs two Rittenhouse Square institutions into one summer package. Hyatt Centric Rittenhouse Square Philadelphia has partnered with Parc, the neighborhood restaurant celebrating its 20th anniversary overlooking the Square this year, to offer guests a curated picnic and an easy way to spend a summer afternoon in one of Philadelphia’s most cherished public spaces.
Two Rittenhouse Names Behind the Package
Parc is a Starr Restaurants property, and it plays the role well: French bistro culture served with the ease and energy of a true Parisian café, from morning viennoiserie through late-night brasserie classics. The kitchen blends traditional French cooking with modern touches, and the picnic basket built for this package — baguette, artisan cheeses, seasonal accompaniments — is a direct extension of the same sensibility that fills Parc’s dining room at 227 S. 18th Street, just steps from the Square.

Hyatt Centric Rittenhouse Square Philadelphia is the brand’s flagship Philadelphia property — 332 rooms, an on-site restaurant and bar called Patchwork, a grab-and-go Patchwork Market, pet-friendly accommodations, and a fitness center, all inside a building designed entirely by Brooklyn-based CRÈME. The interior leans into what the hotel calls elevated rusticity, drawing directly on Philadelphia’s heritage and cultural backdrop rather than a generic upscale-hotel template. It sits at 1620 Chancellor Street, close enough to Parc and the Square that neither half of this package requires much of a walk.
What’s Actually in the Picnic in the Parc Package
The Picnic in the Parc package includes a picnic prepared by Parc — a freshly baked baguette, artisan cheeses, and seasonal accompaniments — meant to be carried the short distance to Rittenhouse Square and enjoyed outdoors. Guests booking Picnic in the Parc also get early check-in starting at noon, subject to availability, which buys extra time to wander the neighborhood’s boutiques and green space before the ordinary 3 or 4 pm check-in would otherwise allow. It works equally well as a romantic getaway, a family afternoon, or a solo escape — the package isn’t built around a specific kind of trip, just a specific kind of afternoon.

Parc has anchored the east side of Rittenhouse Square for more than two decades, becoming one of the city’s most recognizable dining destinations in that time. The Square itself dates back to William Penn’s original 1682 plan for the city — one of Philadelphia’s oldest public spaces, still doing exactly what it was designed to do: giving locals and visitors somewhere to sit down together outdoors. “Guests choose Hyatt Centric Rittenhouse Square Philadelphia for its unbeatable location in the heart of one of Philadelphia’s most dynamic neighborhoods,” said Elizabeth Fricke, the hotel’s Director of Sales and Marketing. “This fun and flavorful package encourages guests to experience two of the best parts of staying with us.”
Picnic in the Parc is bookable now through Sunday, September 6, via Hyatt Centric’s offer page. A hotel a block from the Square, a picnic from one of its best restaurants, and the rest of the summer still ahead — that’s about as simple a Philadelphia afternoon as it gets.
