American Fine Art, Inc’s latest show, Shepard Fairey: Buildings and Blocks opens on February 2nd, 2023, exhibiting work from the world-renowned street artist that includes a display of his graffiti artistry, street artwork, and murals.

A giant of this era’s street art movement, Shepard Fairey has been the subject of James Moll’s documentary Obey Giant and Banksy’s film Exit Through The Gift Shop. His guest role in the Simpsons episode Exit Through The Kwik-E-Mart further solidified his position as a tastemaker in today’s pop culture. In 2019, LA’s Arts District hosted an exhibition dedicated to three decades’ worth of his work titled Facing The Giant: 3 Decades Of Dissent. The artist’s longevity and consistency are undeniable.

What makes Fairey famous is also what makes him infamous. His audacity renders him a beloved figure among anarchists and the public at large, contributing to his poster art’s tremendous success. Fairey is revered for his controversial approach, allowing beauty to shine through in unexpected places.

“I think that art has the ability to capture people’s imaginations and make them think that more is possible.” – Shepard Fairey
