The Turks Head Wines Anniversary week kicks off this Wednesday, September 9th, when the West Chester wine bar cuts the ribbon on two years in business alongside the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry. The 4 p.m. ceremony opens a five-day run of specials, live music, and a five-wine anniversary flight that carries through Sunday.

Wednesday also marks new expanded hours, with the tasting room now open 4 to 9 p.m. That schedule change follows Turks Head’s shift from a wine bar into a full-service restaurant, pairing its California-sourced wine list with a chef-driven dinner menu built around the pours themselves.

Turks Head Wines Anniversary Flight and Wednesday Specials

The anniversary flight runs $25 for five pours, alongside 50 percent off to-go bottles of five wines from the current list, including the 2023 Sauvignon Blanc, the Right Bank and Left Bank blends, and both the white and red versions of the Semi Q blend. Anyone ordering an entree also gets a complimentary 5-ounce glass of Market House red, white, or rosé through the night.

The specials keep going after Wednesday. Thursday brings half-price bottles with the purchase of two entrees in the tasting room. Friday pairs a 9-ounce pour priced like a 5-ounce one with live acoustic music from Cassie and Josh. Saturday runs a rosé-focused afternoon into a live jazz set and a wine class on the grapes behind the modern wine world, with wine club members getting the anniversary flight at half price all day.

Sunday closes the week with 50 percent off open-bottle pours from 4 to 7 p.m., plus a separate Eagles-day discount on tasting flights before the 4:35 p.m. kickoff, open to anyone wearing team gear.

What’s Behind the Turks Head Wines Anniversary Milestone

The Turks Head Wines Anniversary milestone caps two years since founder Allison Owen opened the West Chester location, the brand’s first physical space. Turks Head sources, produces, and bottles its Bordeaux-style wines in Napa, California, then ships them east to a tasting room named for the long-gone Turks Head Tavern that gave West Chester its own nickname among locals.

Owen left a corporate career to build Turks Head Wines from scratch, earning her Level 3 Sommelier certification and a wine instructor credential along the way. Two years and a full restaurant expansion later, this week’s ribbon cutting marks something more specific than a sale: proof the bet on wine over a desk job actually worked.
